For many womxn, allowing ourselves to receive can feel surprisingly difficult. Cultural messages and societal expectations often teach us to be givers—caretakers, supporters, and nurturers. While this generosity is beautiful, it can sometimes lead us to believe that accepting from others is selfish or undeserved. As a result, receiving a compliment, a gift, or even pleasure can trigger feelings of guilt or discomfort.
This prompt invites you to notice how open or guarded you are to receiving, from others and from life itself. Take your time with each question, observing any beliefs or emotions that surface.
